On Wednesday Tacoma Perry of Fox 5 Atlanta’s Good Day Atlanta came to my house and interviewed me. She was here for about 1 hr and 15 minutes. We read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, sang songs, taught signs and interviewed. My friend Amber and her daughter Caroline came over to be our students (she has taken the Level 2 class, and a Sing and Sign series). To her surprise she was interviewed also! The almost 4 minute segment aired on Good Day Atlanta at 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, 9:30 AM and the 12:00 news. I am waiting to see if it airs on the 5:00 and 6:00 news. It’s been great to see how the t.v. thing works and to inform parents and caregivers about infant and toddler sign language when they may not be familiar with it.

Some Schedule changes

Well I have made a few minor changes to the schedule for fall. First I changed the time for the Due Maternity 8 week Evening Class to 5:30-6:15 instead of 5:00. Second I have moved the level 2 class to Play 2 Grow off of Howell Mill and Collier Rd. We needed a larger space for this class! Yay Finally I have added a level 2 evening class at Due Maternity beginning in October on Monday evenings from 5:30-6:15. It’s a busy fall at My Smart Hands of Atlanta. I hope you will join us and be our “signing friend.”

Flashcard Fun

I just got these great flash cards in.They are good for diaper bags, a quiet distraction while eating out, to chew on…oh yeah and to practice

They are two-sided color. On one side there is what you want to sign and on the back there are photographs and a written description of how to sign it. This is great for dads, grandparents, and other care takers. I am selling them for a short time for $15. Please contact me if you would like to place an order. You can pick them up from me at a current class or I will send them to you for $2 per set. Below are some pictures.

It’s been a busy week

It as been a busy week at My Smart Hands of Atlanta. We had a great Famgrab deal on Monday and are the side deal for the rest of the week. So please spread the word.

Last Friday kicked off our 8 week due maternity class. Here are a few pictures from our first class.

The girls are happy, not a fussy baby in sight.

Tuesday night kicked off our 4 week class at Precious Cargo. Their store is so wonderful and inspiring. We have our own quiet section of the store on a beautiful area rug. We had such a great time and are looking forward to our continued relationship with them. If you are in the Smyrna/Vinings area and want to observe come on by.

Tomorrow MSH of Atlanta launches with Smyrna/Vinings Macaroni Kids in their business directory. I receive one month free for every 5 people I send their way, so sign up. We will be doing an article and giveaway with them in the future. Thanks Jennifer for informing me of them

And the final cherry on top of this week is that our class at seed factory starts Saturday at 9:00 AM. Come on by and join the class. To see the great space we will be learning in view my post beautiful space. This will be a class not to be missed and is surrounded by so many restaurants and shopping at White Provision District you can make a morning of it,

Whew! AND THAT is this week. Not bad for a stay at home mom!

I stopped by seed factory to drop off a couple of things and while I was there I decided to take some pictures of the beautiful kid friendly space the class will be held in.

Lots of comfy pillows and a great selection of books

they offer safe toys to explore

What a great learning environment. We are going to have so much fun at seed factory. It truly fits with our philosophy of a fun, casual, playgroup setting.

I remember when I first walked in the doors of Seed Factory . I was about 6 months pregnant and had just finished eating at West Egg . I was nauseas because I had just eaten pancakes, which I knew not to do being pregnant (milk never does well with me when pregnant). As soon as I walked into Seed Factory I forgot about the misery I was in and was swept away to a magical land of children’s clothing, toys, and books. I seriously love this store. I am so honored that My Smart Hands will be holding classes there. So, even if you do not take our class, please visit the store I fell in love with 2 years ago and get lost in the magic that is Seed Factory
